Reset Week Recap

ICYMI

Reset Week was the first week after Christmas break, allowing our students to return to school and renew their hearts and minds before jumping back into the busyness of school and extracurriculars. With its foundation in Romans 12:2, we set out to renew our minds and reset our focus on Jesus.

My favorite time was our all-school chapel service each morning. Hearing our EC3 children worship our Savior alongside our high school seniors and teachers was incredibly special and reminded me just how blessed we are to worship in our school. Reset Week was a great way to start our semester - I can’t wait to do it again next year!

During Reset week, our students got to experience school in a totally new way. Each day, we started an all-school chapel filled with worship, skits, and God's Word focused on this year's theme, "Be the Light."

For Early Childhood and Lower School, time after chapel was filled with snacks, arts, STEAM, music, Bible study, and PE, all focused on “Be the Light.” Senior High mentors and our Administrative staff took care of these activities while EC and Lower School classroom teachers prepared for their afternoon activities.

Junior High students also engaged in arts, STEM, and English activities until lunch with their teachers and Senior High student mentors.

The Senior High mentors allowed students across campus to grow closer and allowed the younger students to see what they have to look forward to in the future.

Upper School students had dedicated time for Bible study and color team competitions in the gym in the afternoons.

Throughout the week, our entire school collected personal items, including toothpaste, socks, deodorant, and more, to create bags for Church Without Walls to deliver to people in our community experiencing homelessness. On Friday, our Sr. High students gathered the supplies and put the bags together.

This week was like no other. Students helped students. Staff helped staff. Our entire campus learned and was reminded of the meaning of being the light for Jesus to each other and to our community.

Reset Week is all-hands-on-deck for Christ Academy. Our Director of Athletics was teaching PE, Mrs. Heptner and Mr. Callaway were teaching art, and Mrs. Haddox and I were teaching Bible. We even had one of our SH students teaching JH art with a substitute teacher. Everyone pitches in to make Reset Week fun and meaningful.   I am so thankful that even though I am no longer teaching Kindergarten on campus, I poured into the Kindergarten and 1st-grade students by teaching Bible to them every day. I went into it wondering how I would help; however, my cup was filled!

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
