At Christ Academy, we are dedicated to integrating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into our students’ education from ages 3 through Grade 12. Our program aims to ignite curiosity and foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving through engaging, hands-on activities such as coding, robotics, drones, and photography. By expanding our STEAM offerings, we’re creating a dynamic learning environment that prepares students to be lifelong learners.

With input from our Early Childhood, Elementary, and Upper School Division Heads, we’ve designed a program that meets the diverse needs of our students, nurturing curiosity and resilience in every learner. Our goal is to equip them with the tools to approach challenges with a critical and creative mindset.

OUR GOALS

Students will work on collaborative projects that encourage teamwork and communication, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. Additionally, the program will include regular showcases and exhibitions where students can present their work to peers, parents, and the broader community, building confidence and public speaking skills.

By integrating STEAM into our curriculum, we aim to prepare our students for the challenges and opportunities of the future. They will learn to approach problems with a critical and creative mindset, equipped with the skills and knowledge to innovate and inspire. Our ultimate goal is to cultivate lifelong learners who are curious, resilient, and capable of making meaningful contributions to society.

NEXT STEPS

Through collaboration with our Division Heads, we developed a comprehensive list of curricula, activities, updated technology, STEAM kits, and other essential resources needed for this initiative. This effort has been formalized into a grant proposal, serving as the foundation for CA Giving Day 2024. Funds raised this year will enable us to implement new STEAM initiatives across all grade levels, providing our students with cutting-edge learning experiences, jump-starting our STEAM journey. Below is a breakdown of our CA Giving Day goals. For more information on specific STEAM items or initiative information, please contact Kim McClellan.
