we create future-ready learners

WE PURSUE INNOVATION

Students will spend their lives in a multitasking, multifaceted, technology-driven, diverse world and must be ready to perform.  Our Senior High program provides an enriched blended learning model, combining a traditional educational model with asynchronous virtual instruction and independent online coursework.

Flexible digital curriculum, flexible schedules, and 24/7 access allows for expanded choices + opportunities and creates a personalized education for every student.

SENIOR HIGH EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT GOALS

  • Students must be independent, self-aware, and prepared to perform in a multi-faceted, technology-driven, and diverse world. In addition, employers need employees who can think critically, take the initiative, and not be told what to do every minute of the day. Our program fosters these skills.

  • The senior high blended program fully mimics the hybrid world-of-work by providing a web-based curriculum and implementing a flex instructional model. The Web-Based Curriculum is designed to provide all course content through an online platform and is delivered by an on-campus or off-campus teacher. Under the Flex Instructional Model, teacher instruction is designed so that online learning is the backbone of student learning, even though it directs students to offline activities at times. Students participate in both synchronous and asynchronous course activities that are facilitated by both on-campus and off-campus teachers.

Over 80% of our courses are taught by a Christ Academy on-campus teacher.

Christ Academy partners with Pearson Connexus to provide additional course offerings for students.

Honors, Advanced Placement, and Vernon College Dual Credit courses are available.

Students regularly attend synchronous Live Lessons to interact and collaborate with their peers and teachers.

Students are provided with a Dell laptop to use on and off campus.

  • While on campus, students have the flexibility to choose their learning environment based on the assignments or activities they need to complete. The Blended Learning Center provides a variety of workspaces: a common room, meeting rooms for small group teaching and group work, and studios for individual student study spaces. A testing room is also available for exams and standardized tests such as the PSAT.

Flexible schedules allow students to explore opportunities and experience a personalized education within safe and appropriate boundaries.

Weekly completion dates offer appropriate accountability for course progress, while still providing students with flexibility to choose when and where they work on courses.

Flexibility allows students the opportunity to pursue their passions (dual credit, sports, ballet, theater, work, volunteer work, rodeo, etc.) or get extra help on-campus.

  • Bible is taught as a rigorous course deepening students’ biblical worldview before they venture out into the world of college and work. Content from the students’ other courses is infused into the Bible course so that they can grapple with biblical worldview issues of science, social studies, English, and math.

  • Students can choose from various on-campus electives, including Studio Art, Photography, Graphic Design, and 3D Modeling.

All students take at least two years of Foreign Language.

By partnering with Pearson Connexus, students can choose additional electives that interest them, even if they are not offered on campus.

The independence that comes along with the high school program at Christ Academy is one of the main aspects that helped prepare for me college. I was able to learn time management, how to study on my own and how to motivate myself to work hard.
— Lauren Berend, class of 2016
