Meet Our New Music Teacher

After nearly two years of not having a music program due to Covid restrictions, we were extremely thankful to have had the opportunity to have one of our staff members step in to take over in our Lower School to bring back music class. While she continued to coach Jr. High athletics and pursue her degree in early childhood education at MSU, Lauren Miller filled the gap at Christ Academy. This past semester, she decided to take a step back from teaching in 2023 to more diligently pursue her education, and we could not be more supportive of her decision.

Thankfully, the Lord had Abbi Fitchie waiting in the wings to join our CA family, and she has been a beautiful addition already! She jumped right in during Reset Week. Yes, she is the daughter of Mrs. Fitchie, our current 4th-grade teacher, and former Music Teacher.

Ms. Fitchie comes to us from another school in town and has been teaching since 2020. She holds Associates degrees in Childhood Development, Art of Teaching, and Science, and she is finishing her Bachelor of Educational Studies, as well. Ms. Fitchie is skilled in playing the piano and ukulele, which will come in handy since she is teaching our Grade 5 students how to play ukuleles.

Music is back in full swing, and we are looking forward to its growth in the coming months and years under Abbi’s guidance. I hope you will give Ms. Fitchie a warm welcome to her new role in our CA family!
