Winter Weather Affects Christ Academy

Christ Academy Update

Dear Parents,

On Tuesday afternoon, a fire suppression sprinkler pipe in the hallway ceiling to the JH burst and hallways, offices, chapel room, and many of the classrooms sustained water damage. The Blended Learning Center and gym did not receive any damage. The fire department responded and water was shut off quickly after they arrived. The remainder of the water was pushed out of the school on Tuesday and the professional cleaning crew came early Wednesday morning with the equipment to remove more water, drywall, dry the floors and remove the carpet in the chapel and administration offices.  Due to the rapid response of the volunteers and Water Damage Restoration Crew a job that would normally take two months is estimated to take approximately two weeks or less. We are working closely with our insurance company. Learning will not be disrupted and remote learning will take place next week, Feb 22-26. As it stands, we are scheduled to open campus and resume in-person learning, Monday, March 1st.

Your teachers will continue to inform you of what is expected.

Please be in prayer as we sort through this process. We have been very fortunate the damage was not more severe and we have had such a rapid response to clean up. Our focus is creating a safe and habitable environment. We will continue to keep you updated.
