Research + Produce + Present

 
The goal of this project was to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills while also improving reading and research skills.

Senior High completed an ongoing research project in history that culminated in a digital or physical exhibit. Students selected the topic and their method of delivery.

Research skills practiced included:

  • Evaluating website information accuracy

  • How to use an academic database

  • Identifying the difference between primary/secondary sources

  • Note taking

  • Attribution

  • Citation of text and photos

  • Synthesizing and summarizing information

Many students learned how to use new technology, like Adobe Spark, for the first time while also gaining a better understanding of visual design elements.

Some students chose to work with a partner which meant they had to research separately then come together to collaborate on the final product.

The projects were shared with classmates who had to write a response explaining what they had learned from their peers.
