2024 Upper School Retreat

We’re excited to continue our upper school back-to-school retreat tradition at Glen Lake Camp + Retreat Center this year! The retreat is a great opportunity for students in junior high and high school to build relationships with one another before we begin the school year. With a waterpark, zip lines, canoeing and more, this camp is going to be an exciting place for us to gather as an Upper School before we begin our academic year!

There will be a $175 charge added to your Christ Academy FACTS account.

retreat information

  • - Dates: Wednesday, August 14th – Thursday, August 15th

    - Location: Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center 1102 NE Barnard St. Glen Rose, Texas 76043

    - Activities Include: Bible Study, Worship, Hiking, Waterpark, Archery, Ziplines, Canoeing, Gym & Outdoor Games

    - Cost: $175 (Includes all meals, lodging, activities, a t-shirt, and transportation on a charter bus to Glen Rose, Texas and back.) The retreat will be billed to your school account and full payment will be due on August 10th. We want all students to participate in the retreat. If the cost of the retreat is an issue, please email Mrs. Adams: eadams@christacademywf.org.

    - Departure: Meet in the Christ Academy Gym at 8:00am on Wednesday, August 14th.

    - Return: To Christ Academy at approximately 3:30pm on Thursday, August 15th. 

    - Transportation & Chaperones: We have booked two charter buses to transport us to and from Glen Rose, Texas. Our upper school staff members will be chaperoning the retreat. Glen Lake Camp also provides lifeguards and additional staff members to help facilitate our activity time.

    - There will be no school on Friday, August 16th for upper school students. Upper school classes will begin on Monday, August 19th.

  • - Sleeping bag or twin sheets/blanket & pillow

    - Towel & toiletries

    - Clothing: PJs, T-shirts & modest shorts (spandex shorts or pants are not acceptable) Students will receive a retreat t-shirt to wear on Friday. 

    - Tennis shoes & water shoes/sandals

    - Backpack & Bible

    - Bug spray & sunscreen

    - Snacks

    - Refillable Water Bottle

    - Swimwear: modest one piece for female students or two-piece covered by athletic attire (tank top and shorts) / swim shorts for male students

If your child(ren) require allergy and/or asthma medications, please also fill out these forms by August 1st and return them to the school or email them to Emily Adams.
