The 2019-2020 Spiritual Theme at Christ Academy is

“Purpose: Living with Intention”

Based on Romans 12:2, each division has created a personalized Chapel experience for their students. At Christ Academy, we seek ways to come together to worship Christ because worship is an integral part of building an authentic faith community. Learn more about each division’s chapel below.

Early Childhood

Chapel services for Early Childhood are different this year in that we have a chapel time all to ourselves. Our chapels are conducted in a large open space that is organized and prepared for our early childhood learners. We are very excited about the advantages and opportunities presented by our new chapel situation. The time is beneficial because we can directly relate the lesson to our weekly Bible curriculum. Our EC grouping is also greatly advantageous because we utilize strategies and songs that are best suited for our early childhood children. This allows freedom to let the students become involved in the lessons through role play and answering questions in a setting in which there is a sense of community and in which they are comfortable. We are looking forward to seeing how the Lord works this year through our Chapel services.

Lower Elementary

Lower Elementary is very excited about our chapel this year! Mrs. Reneau, Mrs. Heptner, and myself will be leading the chapel each week. We will be building community each week and encouraging joy and excitement in worship. Our students will be singing, dancing, and praising Jesus. Our focus for the year will be on the Fruits of the Spirit. Each week we will take one of the fruits and dig deeper with the students. The thing that we are most excited about is that we have decided as a department to “adopt” House of Hope. Once or twice a month we will be traveling across the street to share the love of Jesus with the residents. We plan to sing to them, read to them, pray over them, just spend time with them showing them the love of Jesus.

Upper Elementary

Upper Elementary chapel will be worshipping on the stage as we sing and dance with popular videos and start a new devotional series by Phil Vischer, co-creator of Veggie Tales, about the truth of the Bible and what it means to be a Christian.

Junior Hight

I love the ability to tailor-make chapel to our kids’ needs. We can choose the topics and teach them at grade-level. We are also focusing on community and joy. Our small groups allow for rich discussion. Our chapel is more student-based than topic-based.

Senior High
