Spring Music Recitals
Spring Recital showcases our thriving music program
Recently, our Lower School Music classes and Visual and Performing Arts Academy held their spring recitals, showcasing the students’ hard work and musical study from this past semester. With two nights of performances for Kindergarten-Grade 2 students and Grades 3-5, each recital demonstrated the remarkable progress our students have made.
The first night of performances featured our Kindergarten through Grade 2 classes. They sang songs, played musical instruments, and worked together to create beautiful melodies. Our VPA students also performed individual pieces they had learned with their instructors throughout the semester. These students meet weekly for private or group lessons in their chosen instrument—piano, guitar, or percussion—and at the end of the semester, they select a piece to perform at the recital in front of friends, family, and fellow students.
The following week, our Grades 3-5 students held their recital, a jam-packed night of musical performances. They played instruments, sang songs in rounds, and performed individual pieces. Adding to the evening's excitement, a few students formed an ensemble with Mrs. Mills, singing “Trust in God,” accompanied by Senior High student Fisher Smith on lead guitar. Our students had a wonderful time performing together.
We’ve also loved partnering with The German School Sheppard and having their students join in on our Music classes this semester. They joined our performances and helped make the programs even more special!
All our students did a fantastic job during these wonderful performances, and we can’t wait to see what they will accomplish next. Well done, Warriors!
