Grinch Day Brings Fun and Learning to K-2 Students

Today, Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students at CA celebrated Grinch Day with style and creativity! Dressed in Grinch-themed attire, students rotated through engaging activities in various classrooms, each designed to combine holiday fun with valuable lessons.

Everyone should have joy, and that is what the Grinch needed was joy.

STEM Challenge with Mrs. Barnes
In the STEM rotation, students worked in teams to build Christmas tree towers using only cups and popsicle sticks. This timed challenge encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership as students collaborated to achieve their goal.

Grinch Writing with Mrs. Duke
Over in ELA, students explored their creativity through a writing activity. They brainstormed what they could give the Grinch to make him grin and accompanied their stories with imaginative illustrations.

Snack & Bible Lesson with Mrs. Mills
Students enjoyed Grinch-themed snacks while learning an important Bible lesson. Drawing a parallel between the Grinch’s heart and human sin, Mrs. Mills reminded students that just as the Grinch’s heart grew with love, we too can experience growth and love through Jesus.

Science Fun with Mrs. Gill
In the science rotation, students conducted an exciting experiment with vinegar and baking soda. As the chemical reaction inflated a balloon to three times its size, they compared it to the Grinch’s heart growing larger, tying science and storytelling together.

The day wrapped up with students and teachers coming together to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a perfect end to a day filled with laughter, learning, and Grinchy cheer.

Grinch Day was not only a celebration of holiday fun but also a reminder of the joy of learning and the power of kindness.
