CA Spotlight | Meet the Wachsman Family
what real ca parents have to say
Taylor and Tanner have two young Warriors at CA in Kindergarten and EC3. Taylor and Tanner were both raised in Wichita Falls, went to Texas A&M and Texas Tech for college and moved back to Wichita Falls to run the family business. We asked them why they chose CA for our Early Childhood program and continue to choose CA for EC and elementary.
Here is what Taylor has to say about why she and Tanner choose CA.
It seems like every year, kindergarteners are expected to know more before entering the doors on their first day of school. While touring preschools, there were several things that stood out to me that were different about Christ Academy from the rest. One of them being their engaging curriculum. The Early Childhood team has researched and hand selected the best of the best math, science, bible, social-emotional, and reading programs that all meet the national standards for pre-k. So, for an example, on top of doing a “weekly theme,” which is a standard way of planning in pre-schools, Christ Academy integrates their custom-made curriculum into the theme where true concept development takes place, and your preschooler gets the best instructional support possible. Within the first semester of the program, your 3- or 4-year-old will have been introduced to public speaking, completed a research project, been involved in multiple exciting hands-on science lab experiments, and be able to not only tell you a bible verse but tell you how it can relate to their life.
Another thing that stood out was their progress monitoring & evaluation process for preschool. Parents are continuously being updated on their child’s growth for not only academics but social emotional skills that are taught daily like self-regulation, relationship building, and taking initiatives to get their needs met, which are all EQUALLY important in Early Childhood.
I knew after seeing the positive climate their Early Childhood experts had to offer during the tour, our children would master my number one priority for preschool which is simply, fall in love with learning.
What makes it worth the investment to your family?
I have always been a passionate advocate for high quality early childhood education from having a career in teaching. A child learns the MOST from ages 0-5. When we step back and think about that, this is when we should really invest in our kids the most! Ages 3 & 4 are the peak years of that time frame, and it’s important that as caregivers we set them up for the best foundation for success. Through this program I have watched our children master kindergarten readiness skills and develop core Christian values. I am confident this investment has given them the tools needed to succeed in their academic future.
What you say are some benefits of sending your children here?
Academies offered - our entire family now owns a tennis racquet and plays tennis because of coach Brenner
Trained teachers that can differentiate instruction for your child’s learning to scaffold lessons for them
Maximized learning time
What has been the greatest overall impact on having your children at CA?
Our family has truly felt the warmth of this school's close-knit community. It's been like a big, supportive family for our kids, where they're encouraged to believe in themselves, thanks to the wonderful teachers who've taken the time to connect with them.
